My name is Anastasia Plugatar, I am a freshman at Portland State University studying drama. This website is a visual representation of my learning process in Freshman Inquiry: Work of Art at Portland State University. As you move through the website, notice how the background changes from the images of Portland, to bigger cities like New York, to eventually the World. This expension is a metaphor of the state of my mind throughout the work in this year- long course.
The University Studies is based on series of goals, all combined within a specific theme of your choosing. Work of Art focuses on the origins, the meaning and interpretations of art, starting from the development of the initial gene in human brain to the power of art in terms of social change. The goals are listed in the menu, each containing my interpretation and two examples from my personal works assigned in the class. Hopefully you will find this an informing as well as aesthetically pleasing experience!
